The only thing better than walking the walk is running the run.

Three members of CSL Behring’s Intercontinental Commercial Operations team did just that at this summer’s International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis Congress in London. Their goal: to finish the ISTH 5K and to raise awareness about thrombosis, the formation of dangerous blood clots.

The 5K participants included Ahmet Kalenderoglu, Senior Product Manager, Intercontinental Commercial Operations; Marino Bertapelle, Director, Hematology, Intercontinental Commercial Operations, and Bjoern Schaefer, Associate Director, Levante (Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq).

Kalenderoglu said the photo of the runners shows how they felt about participating in the 5K that took them through London’s Victoria Tower Gardens.

“You may see the joy in our faces for being part of and contributing to the community,” he said.

The runners also wanted to help promote World Thrombosis Day on October 13. World Thrombosis Day organizers hope to increase awareness of thrombosis, including its causes, risk factors, signs/symptoms and evidence-based prevention and treatment.
