CSL's New Chief Financial Officer

CFO Joy Linton brings decades of experience as she comes full circle to her new post in Australia.

Story
CSL CFO Joy Linton

Joy Linton started her professional career living in the Melbourne, Australia, suburb of Parkville and commuting to nearby Broadmeadows, where she worked for the Ford Motor Company. More than 20 years later, after living in the United States and London, she returned home to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer for CSL based in that very suburb of Parkville. What’s more, one of CSL’s major manufacturing facilities is now located in Broadmeadows.

Speaking to The Australian Financial Review, Linton said she was pleased to have returned home, but also to be working for a company with a strong sense of purpose.

“I think it’s a great privilege to work for an organization that’s got an amazing purpose. CSL is very purpose driven, and really does genuinely want to do something good in the world,” she says.

Growing up on a farm, Linton was more used to rounding up sheep than crunching numbers, but an interest in economics that started in high school led her down the path of finance instead of farming.

On her leadership style, Linton said “I really value good leadership, and I’m a finance person through and through, but at the end of the day it’s all about people. So it’s about how do we as leaders create an environment in which people can be the best they can be, and it becomes less about me and what I do, and more about the team.”
