We manufacture products that treat rare and serious conditions for patients around the world. We also fill and package influenza virus vaccine for our sister company, Seqirus.

Half a Century in Kankakee
1951Kankakee Site Groundbreaking
Armour President Fred Specht turns the first shovel of dirt on June 21, 1951. By July 1952, construction was well underway.
1953The Kankakee facility opens as Armour Laboratories.
1987Rorer Group acquires Armour Pharmaceuticals
1989Rorer Group merges with Rhone-Poulenc S.A. to form Rhone-Poulenc Rorer
1999-2000Hoechst AG and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer merge to form Aventis S.A. Aventis S.A. changes name to Aventis Behring
2004CSL Limited purchases Aventis Behring and forms ZLB Behring
2009CSL Behring Kankakee receives FDA approval to fill, package and label Afluria influenza vaccine
2013 - Anniversary60th anniversary celebration marks six decades of continuous operations in Kankakee
2013 - ConstructionConstruction completed on a new base fractionation facility and warehouse.
2014 - AwardCSL Behring Kankakee is recognized for excellence in manufacturing and economic development by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce
2014 - EverestGroundbreaking for Project Everest, the nickname for the expansion project that would include an 18-story building.
2016The staff celebrate the 100-year anniversary of parent company CSL.
2017CSL Behring is recognized as Employer of the Year by the Illinois American Legion for its work with and employment of veterans.
2018CSL Behring Kankakee is recognized for excellence in manufacturing and economic development by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.
2019CSL Behring receives FDA approval for its leading edge plasma fractionation facility. The 180-foot-tall Building 33 is known to locals and employees as "Everest."
