    Kankakee Site Groundbreaking

    Armour President Fred Specht turns the first shovel of dirt on June 21, 1951. By July 1952, construction was well underway.

    CSL Behring receives FDA approval for its leading edge plasma fractionation facility. The 180-foot-tall Building 33 is known to locals and employees as "Everest."

Kankakee County is located just 50 miles south of Chicago, off of Interstate 57. Routes 45/52, 50 and 17 also run through the County.
