CSL Research & Development

CSL is a global specialty biopharmaceutical company that aims to identify, develop and commercialize important, new, biotherapeutic products that save lives by preventing or treating serious medical conditions. We are committed to significantly investing in our future R&D portfolio and capabilities in the areas of plasma replacement therapies, vaccines, immunomodulators (with our proprietary ISCOMATRIX® adjuvant) and therapeutic proteins (using recombinant technology).

CSL includes CSL Behring, CSL Plasma, and CSL Biotherapies. These businesses have a heritage of outstanding contributions to medicine and human health, with more than 100 years experience in the development and manufacture of vaccines and plasma protein biotherapies.

CSL operates as one integrated global research and development organization. We assemble coordinated global project teams drawing together staff from different countries depending on their expertise. These teams rely on a project management framework that facilitates collaboration across national and cultural boundaries.

To complement our in-house expertize we also draw on strategic partnerships with academic institutions and other organisations globally. These collaborative partnerships support a range of effective research programs, including both basic and applied research in plasma derived and recombinant biotechnology based product development.
