In honor of Rare Disease Day on February 28, we asked Paul Perreault, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of CSL Limited, three questions, including "Why Is the Rare Disease Community Unique?" 

Perreault said patients and caregivers distinguish themselves by their self-advocacy and the way they empower themselves with knowledge.

“They continue to come back and actually bring information to healthcare providers because they’re the ones that understand what they’re living with each and every day,” Perreault said. “This is the nuance with rare disease.”
