CSL plasma protein therapies, which treat a variety of rare and serious diseases, are being shipped to the Ukrainian region as part of coordinated relief efforts.

Aligned with CSL’s promise to protect human health, the company is supporting multiple humanitarian relief efforts and working with the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Health Emergency preparedness and Response Authority (HERA), the European Union RescuEU program, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism to Ukraine and the Red Cross.

“Helping people in life-threatening situations is part of our core business. We will continue our support, our solidarity, and our help also in the upcoming month, as CSL stands in full solidarity with Ukraine and their people,” said Lutz Bonacker, General Manager CSL Behring GmbH & Commercial Operations Europe.

Recently, the infusion medicines were collected from CSL Behring’s site in Marburg, Germany. From there, humanitarian, intergovernmental and EU-coordinated efforts shipped the medicines to the region to help refugees and those who remain in Ukraine. The medicines could assist in treating infected wounds, controlling bleeding and treating shock following serious injuries, burns or surgeries.

The donation of medicines is among several efforts CSL has made in response to the conflict. In April, the company took part in Stand Up for Ukraine, pledging 1.6 million euros and helping raise a total of more than $10 billion (9.6 billion euros).
