CSL Chief Risk Officer Karen Neave is among 24 finalists for a WeQual Award, which identifies women who have leadership qualities worthy of top-level executive management positions.
Neave joins other female executives from large companies in the Asia-Pacific region, including leaders at The Heineken Company, NewsCorp, Bank of China and others. She’s a finalist in the business security category.
Katie Litchfield, former Executive Editor of The Financial Times, founded WeQual in 2018 to speed up progress for women in the top ranks of companies.
“We run the WeQual Awards all over the world, and while the result we are aiming for is the same everywhere – 50/50 gender equality in the Executive Committees of the world’s biggest companies – we are finding that the hurdles women have to overcome vary from region to region,” Litchfield said in a news release.
Judges assessed the candidates in eight categories, including cognitive ability, drive & resilience, emotional intelligence and knowledge of the business. Winners will be announced in September.
