Did you know – donated human plasma is needed to make medicines for many rare diseases?

Watch a video interview with Dirk Hoheisel, CSL Behring’s General Manager for Germany/Austria/Emerging Europe. Hoheisel, based in Germany, walks the walk in the video – donating blood plasma himself. Rare diseases are a global concern and 7 to 8 percent of the German population has a rare disease, Hoheisel said.

He also explains the role of antibodies and describes the exacting process used to turn donated plasma into purified plasma medicines.

“We do this together with thousands of employees at CSL Behring and additionally with the support of many thousands of donors who donate blood plasma,” he said.
