Watch a Milestone in Switzerland

CSL Behring celebrates a $257 million expansion.

Story

Government officials and CSL Limited’s board of directors recently joined with local craftsmen and construction workers to celebrate a landmark project in Bern, Switzerland. Traditional alphorns (alpine horns) sounded during the symbolic laying of the foundation stone for the expansion, valued at 250 million Swiss francs ($257 million). Workers also buried a time capsule filled with memorabilia, including two empty medicine vials and a bear figurine in honor of Bern. The project called “Protinus” - Latin for “forward-looking, ahead” - will construct two new production lines to produce immunoglobulin products for an additional 90,000 patients a year worldwide.
