Hundreds of people recently bundled up in Marburg, Germany, for an outdoor concert that celebrated the holidays. Organized by the city of Marburg and the local American-style football club, the group sang traditional and modern Christmas carols.
Why was a football club involved? The Marburg event takes its inspiration from a long-running outdoor sing-along hosted by soccer club F.C. Union Berlin. That event has now grown to fill the club’s stadium, which can seat more than 20,000 people. CSL Behring sponsored the inaugural concert in Marburg and the planning is already underway for the 2019 edition, organizers said.
