Some people would say that Carsten Skill regularly performs magic as Senior Manager of Project Engineering at CSL Behring in Marburg, Germany. But when he’s not working at his day job, he is performing magic in a more literal sense.
Carsten has been a magician for almost three decades. In magic, Carsten finds both joy and variety. He said that magic has also taught him skills that he can translate to the business world. “Magic has helped me a lot, especially street magic,” he said. “As a magician, you have to face and deal with countless difficult situations and people.”
Carsten especially enjoys performing “close-up magic,” during which he is performing in an intimate setting. “I perform very close to the audience and they can take a close look at what I am doing,” he explained.

Years with CSL Behring:
I’ve been at CSL Behring for a total of 6 years. I rejoined the company last August after pursuing some other opportunities.
I'm proud of:
I manage the balance between work, family and hobby well. That’s why I can do everything I do with passion and enthusiasm.
Goal I'm striving towards now:
Right now my biggest goal is to see the completion of a large project I am overseeing: the new research and development building in Marburg.
Best advice anyone ever gave me:
Everyone is responsible for themselves. Everyone can decide what he does, with whom he surrounds himself and how he reacts to things. It’s not the fault of others or bad circumstances, but you alone are responsible for yourself and your personal happiness.
My idea of the perfect day:
A perfect day starts and ends with my family. And in between it would be experiencing exciting things, working on varied topics and being surrounded by pleasant people.
A hobby I enjoy:
In addition to magic, I play a little sports and I enjoy being with my family very much.

Variety and new challenges motivate me, as well as good and trusting teamwork.
My most prized possession:
Definitely my family. We have so much fun together! I enjoy the time we spend together very much.
