How would you like to decorate it – by following strict directions with no opportunity for your input or with full creative control to make a masterpiece in rainbow colors? This cupcake-decorating exercise was among many offered during Leadership Day at the CSL Behring production site in Bern, Switzerland. The event invited more than 350 employees to learn how emerging technologies and modern leadership styles will impact the future of work. When faced with a blank cupcake, organizers say people more often choose the creative route. That’s a small lesson in human nature and modern leadership.
